Transcript – Creating New Activity Types

Hi, this is Brookey from the Preserver App. Today I want to talk to you about Activity Types which is what you get when you hit the green button at the bottom on the Preserver app.

Let me open Preserver and if we hit the green button down the bottom right there, you can see we’ve got 2 at the moment. One called Filing and one called General.

When you first open Preserver for the first time, there will only be one, and that will be General. And General is there forever. You can’t remove it, but you can add others. Typically, you might like to add “Food and Eating” or “Walks and Exercise”, maybe “Filing and “Paperwork”. I’ve got Filing there because that’s how I, that’s how I keep my records.

What I want to do though, is to add a new one. So, the green plus button at the top of the right-hand side there in the Activity area, when I click that, it says create a new Activity. So, I’m going to add Walk and hit the add button, and now we’ve got Walk. It’s that simple.

Let me create a quick Activity and show you what’s going on here. Let me click on that, and we now have an Activity open. That’s where I am on a map, And I’ve got the 4 icons. I can add photos and video and, record audio or do text and text to speech. I’m just going to take a photograph here, of where I am, the lake – Currimundi Lake. That’s okay. Perhaps another one down here on the boat ramp. Currimundi Lake. Okay.

And that’s enough. I’ll hit End. We’re going to end our Activity. My defaults are set to upload to Google Drive, upload to Google Calendar, and I can give that a title. I’m just going to call that Activity and End.

So now we’ve got it uploading to Google Drive, and thence forth onto the Calendar. And if I went to the Calendar you’d see an Activity there, and you could take a look at the photographs that are now stored on Google Drive.

The interesting thing is it’s now an Activity in my list of Activities there, and in the title at the top there it says Westaway Parade Currimundi, and Walk is the new Activity Type for that Activity.
